1. Purpose
This is a notification to all customers that Movella will officially implement an End of Life (EOL) for the MTi 1-series v3 (MTi-x-0I) as described in Section 2, and that a new hardware version for the MTi 1-series product line will be released. The milestones and dates are mentioned in Section 3.
Due to global constraints in the supply of MEMS components and consequently to ensure the continuity of supply of compatible MTi 1-series products, a new magnetometer is incorporated in the hardware design of the MTi 1-series. This results in the availability of hardware version 5 of the MTi 1-series; the MTi-x-5A.

4. Customer Impact
4.1 Functionality
While the MTi-x-0I is no longer available, a new product (MTi-x-5A) will become available with a new magnetometer component. Based on our initial tests, the new devices are fit, form and function compatible with the old devices.
Because of the new hardware version, there will also be a new compatible FW version available specifically for this HW version.
4.2 Non-Functional
The performance specifications of the magnetometer remain identical, see below table. Validation of the new parts’ performance in the existing application is advised.

The minimum input voltage is now 2.8V for the new HW version. However, the power consumption specifications remain the same.

Part numbering will be updated: Existing part numbers remain the same, new part numbers are created for hardware version 5.
